Co-occurring disorders, or dual diagnosis, occurs when mental health and substance use disorders overlap. Typically, the symptoms of the mental health and substance use disorders build on each other, creating amplified symptoms that can inhibit a person’s life. Both disorders need proper treatment to help individuals get back to feeling more like themselves. Combining substance abuse and mental health treatment through our Co-Occurring Services offers a more effective and efficient way to help clients learn how to manage symptoms for both mental health and substance use disorders.

At Owen Health Care, we strive to provide each individual with treatment that teaches clients how to better regulate emotions, cravings, and unwanted thoughts, as well as how to manage triggers to prevent relapse and stay on a healthy path to self-discovery. Our licensed clinicians utilize a variety of therapeutic techniques to do so, including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), motivational interviewing (MI), and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), to name a few. Our licensed clinicians are also sensitive to individual needs, taking trauma-informed approaches, strengths based perspectives, and tailoring treatment to each individual client.
